Our story
We are two PhDs, in AI and mathematical modeling, who were drawn to options trading by its high ceiling for reward. Once we faced losses we treated them like an engineering problem.
An edge you can't test rigorously isn't an edge; it's a story.
We went looking for tools that could test our strategies properly and found nothing worth trusting: data too shallow, tickers too limited, fills unrealistic, assumptions too far from reality. And automation of options strategies barely existed at all.
So we decide to buld the system ourselves. Quote-level options data. Modeled fills, slippage, assignment, shifting volatility regimes. Automation built to hold when the connection drops or the power goes out, not just when the market behaves.
Then a natural question arised: What about everyone else: the traders who know markets inside and out, but don't have an engineering degree? That journey is what led us to start Quantropy. Our aim is simple:
